Thank you for looking at my food fun filled website. I have worked as a line cook, fromager, sommelier, food stylist, consultant and culinary educator (currently working on adding amateur food photographer).
I love this industry. There is so much to do!!! Having worked in so many areas within the food and beverage industry has allowed me to partake in and witness many wonderful "foodie" moments
Brief Overview:
My parents met in New York. Dad wanted his first son to be born in Chile (dad is from Chile, mom is from Costa Rica). I arrived and we moved back to the U.S. We landed in Flushing, Queens, New York.
My neighborhood in the mid eighties experienced a large cultural change. What was predominantly Russian, Italian, German and a little Irish turned into a very large Asian population. This is where my love and appreciation for these ancient and very flavorful food cultures come from.
My father's roots are Italian. My grandfather's family came to Chile in 1903 from Modena, Italy. My mother and her roots come from Costa Rica and Spain.
Can you imagine the meals growing up???
So with that I present to you my experiences, flavors, images, memories, thoughts and trends, basically a big pot of Soup (nice). Welcome to Hungrychef.com

I'm always on the look out for the best. If this means that I have to travel for several hours just to get the
best pulled pork sandwich, then so be it.
If I have to get on a plane because my palate craves oysters from the Island of Chiloé, rest assured that I will go.

Thankfully for my wallet, there are many phenomenal places in my old stomping ground of New York City, and my newly adopted home state of New Jersey. Visit my journal, as I will be writing about them.
So stop by anytime @ Hungrychef.com
'cause the kitchen's never closed !!!
