Altair Vineyards and Winery Tasting
Friday, March 11, 2005 at 10:46PM Today, I had the great pleasure of collaborating on a menu with Jason Weaver. He is the Executive Chef of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, located on Columbus Circle in New York City. We were invited to prepare a tasting menu for the launch of the U.S. promotional campaign for Altair Vineyards and Winery. Many representatives from several culinary and non-culinary media outlets were present.
Here is the menu that we created and prepared.
This vineyard and winery is a joint venture between Viña San Pedro and Cháteau Dassault. The people behind this project are Guillermo Luksic and Laurent Dassault

Wine always tastes different when you are in some far away land with beautiful vistas serving as the backdrop. But I tell you, being on the 40th floor with a view of Central Park on a lovely Friday afternoon, tasting some beautiful wines and (ehhhm) delicous food in NYC cannot be beat.
